About Michigan
Michigan is a state in the Great Lakes region of the United States that consists of two peninsulas. The Straits of Mackinac separates the upper and lower peninsulas and joins together Lake Huron and Lake Michigan. The Upper Peninsula is bordered to the north by Lake Superior and Canada, to the west by Minnesota, to the south by Wisconsin and Lake Michigan and to the east by Lake Huron and Canada. The Lower Peninsula is bordered to the north by the Straits of Mackinac, to the west by Wisconsin and Lake Michigan, to the south by Indiana and Ohio and to the east by Lake Huron, Canada and Lake Erie.
About Hours
An hour consists of sixty minutes. We measure out our days in hours; when we are having fun, an hour is short. While we are suffering, an hour is very very long. In the Middle Ages (the 5th century to the 15th century) Christian monks and artists created 'Books of Hours.' They contained prayers and psalms for each hour of the day. They were 'illuminated,' that is, their texts were illustrated in gold ink and brilliant colors. The Cloisters Museum in NYC has a wonderful collection of Books of Hours.
