Tests in Surin, Thailand showed a record of 24 km/hour for the fastest elephant, only three elephants ran faster than 15 km/hour.

It is generally accepted that a charging elephant can travel at 20+ mph

About Elephant
Elephants are the largest land animal on Earth, with the average elephant weighing in at 4 or 5 tons, and standing over 10 feet high! There are three species of elephant; the Asian Elephant, the African bush elephant and the African forest elephant. The typical elephant can live up to 70 years, and eats 300-400 pounds of food a day. Elephants spend more time in the womb than any other animal, 22 months. When a baby elephant is born it can weigh up to 260 pounds!
