How is ALS diagnosed?
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is a disease of the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. No one test can provide a definitive diagnosis of ALS, although the presence of upper and lower motor neuron signs in a single limb is strongly suggestive.
