How is it possible for the nighttime minimum to occur as much as 30 minutes after the sun has risen?
These topographical influences are both diurnal & seasonal. For example, the difference between a daily maximum & minimum may be 10°F or less over water, near a shoreline, or over a swamp or marsh, while a difference of 50°F or more is common over rocky or sandy deserts. Radiation fog is restricted to land because water surfaces cool little from nighttime radiation.
