How is natural gas used for cars?
Natural gas can be used as a motor vehicle fuel in two ways: as compressed natural gas (CNG), which is the most common form, and as liquefied natural gas. Cars using natural gas are estimated to emit 20% less greenhouse gases.

About Gas
Gas is technically a state of matter where molecules are in an excited state, but is more often used as a reference to the fuel, gasoline. Gasoline is also known as petrol due to its derivation from petroleum.
About Greenhouse Gas
Greenhouse gasses are gasses that trap heat and infrared radiation in the atmosphere. On Earth they include water vapor, methane, nitrous oxide, carbon dioxide and ozone. Even with the level of greenhouse gasses in our atmosphere rising, at least we don't look like Venus with temperatures in the 400 - 800 degree Fahrenheit range.
