How is Odysseus brave?

Rate This Answer

Odysseus Odysseus (Ulysses in Latin) was a legendary Greek king of Ithaca and the hero of Homer's Odyssey and Iliad. One example of his braveness was his influence during the Trojan War. He was a trusted counsellor and adviser who championed the Achaean cause, especially when the king was in question, as in one instance when Thersites spoke against him. Another example can be found when Agamemnon, to test the morale of the Achaeans, announced his intentions to depart Troy. This caused conflict, and Odysseus showed his braveness by restoring order to the Greek camp. ChaCha!!

Odysseus may be considered brave by some, but many times in the epic poem, he crosses the thin line between bravery and stupidity. When escaping the Cyclops' cave, Odysseus cannot help but taunt Polyphemus and even when his crew begs him to stop in order fear for lives he could not be stopped,
