It's grown.The rice farmer levels a large field and builds a small levey around the hold field. Then he divides the field in to sections with more levies with sluith gates.Then he broadcast rice seed over the area, and floods the field .He uses the gates to control the level of the water in different partsof the field. For every cup of long grain rice, add 1 1/2 cups water. Bring the rice to a boil, uncovered, at medium heat. When the rice is boiling, turn the heat down to medium low. Place the lid on the pot. Simmer the covered rice for another 15-20 minutes.
