How is supernova related to the matter found on earth?
Cosmic fallout from an exploding star dusted the Earth about 2.8 million years ago, and may have triggered a change in climate that affected the course of human evolution. The evidence comes from an unusual form of iron that was blasted through space by a supernova before eventually settling into the rocky crust beneath the Pacific Ocean. ChaCha!

About Supernova
A supernova is a gigantic explosion which produces a burst of radiation that expels most or all of a star's material. The astronomical event occurs when the gravitational force of a star surpasses the Chandrasekhar limit or in a number of other ways. Approximately one supernova occurs in the Milky Way galaxy every 50 years.
