About Mixed Drinks
Mixed drinks are staples for almost any night out on the town. A mixed drink is any cocktail using two or more ingredients, like whiskey and coke, gin and juice, or Sunny D and rum (yum yum). For those teetotalers, or to young to partake, there are many mixed drinks that can be made without alcohol called virgin drinks like; virgin daiquiris, virgin margaritas, and virgin Bloody Marys.
About Rum
Rum is a distilled alcoholic beverage made from sugarcane by-products such as molasses and sugarcane juice by a process of fermentation and distillation. The end product of the distilled liquid is usually then stored in oak barrels until it is time for consumption. Most of the worlds rum is produced in Carribean nations and in South America, where sugarcane production is very high. Light rums are typically used in cocktails where they are mixed with fruit juice or colas. Dark rums are usually mixed with nothing because they are tasty under their own merit, and are sipped from a grog which is a small goblet.
