Andy Rooney (born January 14, 1919) is an American radio and television writer. He is most notable for his weekly broadcast 'A Few Minutes with Andy Rooney,' a part of the CBS News program 60 Minutes since 1978. On October 2, 2011 Andy Rooney retired at the age of 92 from the show after hosting it for 33 years. However he stated, 'I wish I could do this forever. I can?t, though. But I?m not retiring. Andrew "Andy" Aitken Rooney (January 14, 1919 - November 4, 2011) was an American television and radio personality and writer who is best known for his weekly appearances on the popular CBS television news series 60 Minutes. Rooney had been a part of the show for more than 30 years, with his final regular appearance taking place on October 2, 2011, just one month before his death from complications following minor surgery. He was 92.
