How long did the battle of D Day last?
D-Day at Normandy was Tuesday, 6 June 1944, the invasion as a whole was known as Operation Neptune and Operation Overlord. Over 175,000 troops landed on D-Day. There was a three-week military buildup at Normandy before the start of Operation Cobra, which was the break out of Normandy. The fight for control of Normandy lasted about 2 months.
