Your body can't digest gum; it leaves the body intact in your stool. It doesn't take 7 years though!

Our stomach doesn't digest gum at all! Since it's made out of soluble fiber, chewing gum passes right through us. ChaCha on!

The gum does not digest completely, but it is still pushed through the digestive system. Length of time varies, but not 7 years.

If you swallow the gum, it passes through the intestine without being digested or absorbed and it is excreted in the feces.

Less than 24 hours. It is not "digested" but rather exits in much the same shape as it went in.

Contrary to popular belief gum will pass through the body in about 12 to 72 hours. There is no waiting seven years anymore! ChaCha
