How long is the Appalachian trail in Maine?
The Appalachian Trail runs 281 miles through Maine. The northern terminus of the AT is Katahdin, 5,267 ft. high, in Baxter State Park in central Maine. The Trail continues southwest to Monson, eventually crossing the Kennebec River, at about the Maine halfway point. Many mountains later, and after passing through the Mahoosuc and Grafton notches, it enters New Hampshire.

About Maine
Maine is a state in the New England region of the United States bordered by New Hampshire, the Atlantic Ocean, Quebec, and New Brunswick. Maine has a humid continental climate with warm and humid summers and cold winters. Summer highs average 75–80 °F and winter highs average 20 °F. Maine’s record high temperature is 105 °F (41 °C), set in July 1911.
