How many 401k loans can a person get at their job?
In most cases, an employee can borrow up to fifty-percent of their vested account balance up to a maximum of $50,000. If the employee has taken out a 401k loan in the previous twelve months, they will only be able to borrow fifty-percent of their vested account balance up to $50,000, less the outstanding balance on the previous loan.

About 401k
A 401K plan enables employees to save money for retirement in a tax free fashion until the money is withdrawn from the account upon the acceptable retirement age. The funds in the account can be invested in different stocks, bonds, mutual funds or other assets. This was created by Congress in 1981 and is named 401k due to the section of the Internal Revenue Code that describes it.
