There are many cities and towns scattered throughout Alaska (at least 719), but only 3 major cities have over 10,000 people.

The climate in Alaska is an oceanic climate in the southern panhandle with a subarctic oceanic climate in the northern part of the state. The panhandle typically is the warmest and wettest part of Alaska. You will most likely find temperatures in the winter above freezing in this part of the state, which is unlikely in the rest.
