About Girl Scouts
The Girl Scouts of the United States of America (GSUSA) is an organization for girls that describes itself as “the world’s preeminent organization dedicated solely to girls.” Juliette Gordon Low founded the organization in 1912. Low founded GSUSA after she met Robert Baden Powell, the founder of Scouting, in 1911.
