IKEA stores are usually two levels, with the top floor housing the showroom and the restaurant, while the lower level houses the warehouse and check-out counters. The showroom is designed so the shopper has to walk through the whole thing, making notes about what they want to get when they get to the warehouse level to find what they want for the second time before proceeding to the check-out.
