How many people died on September 11th 2001?
On the tragic day of September 11, 2001, Al Qaeda devastated our country in the senseless hijacking of commerical airlines. Excluding the 19 hijackers, a total of 2,974 people died in the attacks. The overwhelming majority of casualties were civilians. There were 343 firefighters and paramedics killed; 23 NYPD officers; 1,609 people lost a spouse or partner; and over 3,051 children lost a parent. Our deepest condolences. About September 11th
September 11, 2001 was the day that the United States was subjected to an attack by Al-Qaeda, a foreign terrorist group. The World Trade Center and the Pentagon were both hit by hijacked airplanes, and another airplane that was destined for the White House was brought down by civilians in a field in Pennsylvania. A remembrance tower for the thousands of missing and dead has been built on the space where the twin towers once stood.
