About New York City
New York City is the most populous city in the United States and home of the United Nations Headquarters. It is known to some as the cultural capital of the world, being a center for finance, media, art, fashion, technology, entertainment and global commerce. New York City is made up of five boroughs: Brooklyn, The Bronx, Manhattan, Queens and State Island. As well as being the most densely populated major city in the United States, it is also the most linguistically diverse, with over 800 languages spoken.

New York is found in the Northeast region of the United States. Bordered by Canada to the north and west, Pennsylvania and New Jersey to south and Vermont, Massachusetts and Connecticut to the east, New Jersey is the 3rd most populous state. New York has a fairly humid climate with mild summers and long, cold winters. The average temperature in the summer is in the upper 70’s where the average temperatures in the winter are in the low 30’s.
