How many people were injured in the riots in London?
On August 6, 2011 during a peaceful protest of the senseless killing of a young man, Mark Duggan, by police as he was riding in a cab, a riot broke out outside of Tottenham police station. Rioters threw homemade bombs, set cars and buildings ablaze, and looted their local community. At least 42 people were arrested and 26 officers were injured. No deaths have been reported. The London Riots began Aug. 6, 2011, in Tottenham, London, but the reason is still unknown. According to BBC and other sources, the riots were sparked after a young man, Mark Duggan, was senselessly killed by British police while he was riding in a cab. Apparently, the protest over his death was peaceful until thugs "hijacked" it and made it violent.
