The London Riots On August 6, 2011 during a peaceful protest of the senseless killing of a young man, Mark Duggan, by police as he was riding in a cab, a riot broke out outside of Tottenham police station. Rioters threw homemade bombs, set cars and buildings ablaze, and looted their local community. At least 42 people were arrested and 26 officers were injured. No deaths have been reported.
