How many periods in a hockey game?

A game is 3 20-min periods. If tied a 5-min overtime period is added, in playoffs, there's a 20-min sudden death overtime. ChaCha

Each game consists of three periods of twenty minutes each. If the score is tied at the end of 3 there is a 20 min overtime period
