How many Sims games are there?

About Sims 3
The Sims 3 is the latest in the series of 'Sims' life simulation games. Players create customized characters and control them through their daily lives to influence their growth and success. There is no real end-game, although characters now age and have children, but there is basically unlimited play time. The game released for PC on June 2, 2009 and on October 26, 2010 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
