About Leonard Cohen
Leonard Cohen is a world-famous poet, writer, and singer-songwriter. Born in Montreal, Canada, he was already well-known there as a young poet when he stopped in NYC just in time to catch the explosion in poetry and the arts occurring there in the sixties. His song ''Suzanne'' was recorded by Judy Collins and became an enormous hit. Cohen recorded his first album (Songs of Leonard Cohen) in 1967, and his sonorous baritone, singing his evocative and melancholy songs, launched him onto the singer-songwriter music scene, a field he still dominates well into his nineties.
