It's difficult to say, had Hubert Humphrey been elected it is likely the Vietnam War would have continued on to the next election as it did under Nixon. Humphrey was closely associated with supporting the Vietnam War as Vice President under Johnson. Robert Kennedy was considered the most likely candidate to end the war more quickly.
