About Cough Syrup
Cough syrup is an everyday remedy to help you stop coughing so much. For dry coughs/unproductive coughs, or coughs that don't help you hack up mucus, antitussives would probably be the best bet. If your coughs are productive, ie helping you expel that nasty mucus an expectorant is your best bet. Use cough syrup only as directed on the side of the bottle. If your cough doesn't get any better after a few days, see your doctor.
About Purple Drank
Purple Drank is a slang term for a cough syrup cocktail made with prescription strength cough syrup containing codeine and promethazine, Sprite or Mountain Dew, and a Jolly Rancher candy served in a Styrofoam cup with ice. Purple Drank does not contain any liquor, but it will really mess you up; it has been dubbed the anti-energy drink. Other names for Purple Drank include Sizzurp, Barre, Lean, Purple Jelly or simply, Drank.
