About Monkey
The 264 known monkey species represent two of the three groupings of simian primates. Monkeys are generally considered to be intelligent and, unlike apes, monkeys usually have tails. Monkeys range in size from the Pygmy Marmoset, at 5-6 inches long and 4-5 ounces in weight, to the male Mandrill, almost 3.3 feet long and weighing 77 pounds. Some live in trees while others live on the savanna. Diets differ among the various species but may contain any of the following: fruit, leaves, seeds, nuts, flowers, eggs and small animals.
About Reptiles
Reptiles are animals in the class Reptilia. Reptiles breath air, lay eggs, have skin covered in scales, have four legs and are cold blooded. Reptiles are further broken down into four different orders: crocodilia (crocodiles, gavials, caimans, and alligators,) sphenodontia (tuataras from New Zealand,) squamata (lizards, snakes, and worm lizards,) and testudines (turtles and tortoises.)
About Insects
Insects are a class within the arthropods that have a chitinous exoskeleton, a three-part body, three pairs of jointed legs, compound eyes, and two antennae.
About Birds
Birds are warm-blooded vertebrates that lay eggs. A bird’s skin is covered with feathers, and all living species have wings made from modified forelimbs, even though some species do not fly. The origin of birds goes back to the Jurassic period. Modern birds have no teeth unlike their predecessors. Birds are found on all seven continents and play an important role in the earth’s ecosystem.
