Pregnant Period Women do not have periods while they are pregnant. A period is the body's way of shedding the uterine lining in months when no embryo has implanted. When there is an embryo present, the lining is not shed, hence no period! Pregnancies are usually dated by finding the first day of the last menstrual cycle, because after that, there are no more for at least forty weeks.
