How old do you have to be to buy a lighter?

I did not find an age restriction on minors purchasing lighters. However, it is possible for stores to have their own guidelines.

The Tobacco Accessories Law was passed in the the US in 1996, making it illegal for a minor to buy lighters and rolling papers.

Currently there is no minimum age for purchasing matches or lighters. However store owners could refuse based on own policy.

There is no legal age restriction on lighters (or matches), but some stores may require that you be a certain age.

The age limit to purchase a lighter varies in different states. But people are rarely asked for proof of age to buy a lighter.
