Abraham Lincoln was the 16th President of the United States. He is a former Congressman from the state of Illinois. He is the first president to be killed by an assassin. Scholars rate him one of the greatest Presidents in United States history.
About Abe Lincoln
Abraham Lincoln was the 16th President of the United States, serving from March 1861 until his assassination in April 1865. He led the country during the Civil War, issuing the Emancipation Proclamation to order the freedom of all slaves in the United States. He was a gifted orator, and is still well-known for his Gettysburg Address, one of the most quoted speeches in history. He was the first US President to fall victim of assassination. Historians and scholars still rank Lincoln as one of the greatest U.S. Presidents.
About Lincoln
Lincoln is the luxury brand of Ford Motor Company and was founded in 1917 by Henry M. Leland. He named the Lincoln car company after his lifelong hero Abraham Lincoln. In 1922 Ford purchased the Lincoln luxury brand to compete with Cadillac and immediately saw success. Lincoln is also one of the largest limousine suppliers and has been producing presidential cars since 1939.
