Dalai Lama is the title given to the leader of the Gelug Tibetan branch of Buddhism. The Dalai Lama is traditionally considered to be a manifestation of Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha of Compassion. The current Dalia Lama, Tenzin Gyatso (born July 6th 1935) is the 14th Dalai Lama. He won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989 and is the spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhists. All the ChaCha, no fillers!
