Scientists estimate the Earth is around 4.55 billion years old, which is based on rocks/minerals found on Earth that date back 3-4 billion years. Creationists and young-earth proponents say the Earth/Universe are only about 6,000 years old. No one can know for sure because we don't know how old the earth is.
