Michael Jackson (8/29/58-6/25/09) was a singer, entertainer, and philanthropist. Michael was commonly referred to as the King of Pop and also recognized as the most successful entertainer of all time. Michael was the 8th child out of 10 in the Jackson family and grew up in Gary, Indiana, and he started his music career with the Jackson Five and a solo career in 1971.
