How was the earth formed?
According to modern science, the earth (and the solar system) was created at the death of a star. The material swirled and collected into the sun and the leftovers formed the planets and other space debris that orbit the sun. This is one theory.

Originally, the Earth was a ball of hot gas. It cooled and turned liquid and contracted to a ball form with a solid surface.
