About New York City
New York City is the most populous city in the United States and home of the United Nations Headquarters. It is known to some as the cultural capital of the world, being a center for finance, media, art, fashion, technology, entertainment and global commerce. New York City is made up of five boroughs: Brooklyn, The Bronx, Manhattan, Queens and State Island. As well as being the most densely populated major city in the United States, it is also the most linguistically diverse, with over 800 languages spoken.
About NYC Subway
The New York City Subway is the busiest subway system in the Western hemisphere, accomplishing over 5 million rides on weekdays, over three million on Saturdays, and two million plus rides on Sundays. It is also one of the oldest and largest public transit systems worldwide, with 468 stations and 209 miles of routes. Dirty and noisy, it is the lifeblood of the vibrant city of New York and its five boroughs. It offers service 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.
