When the British and American troops opened a second front by attacking Germany from the west, they took pressure off of Russia in the east. This was done under Soviet Premier Stalin's urgings. America had entered the war after Pearl Harbor was bombed, and after Germany had declared war on the US (a few days after the Pearl Harbor bombing.) ChaCha!
