If I attend fire explorers in my area for 3 years, am a firefighter for my local fire department, and get an associates degree in fire protection technician, would I have a good chance of becoming a firefighter for FDNY?
To be hired as a New York City Firefighter you must live in of one of the five boroughs of New York City, or live in Nassau, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Suffolk or Westchester County. You also need 15 college credits or 6 months of previous experience.
