If I have an insurance check made out to me and the doctor can I just cash it or does the doctor have to sign it too?
If a check is made out to yourself and another person, both you and the other person must endorse the check upon depositing it.

About Check
To check is to examine so as to determine accuracy, quality, or condition; ''check the brakes,'' ''Check out the engine.'' It can also mean to block or impede (a player from the opposing team) in ice hockey. A 'coat check' is where one leaves one's coat at an event. A check is probably best known, however, as a paper note used to bay bills.
