If you're 23 and you save $100 per week in a 401k, will you have enough money to retire at age 50?
If you put 100 dollars per week in a 401 K, you would have approximately 300,000 dollars by the time you are 50 years old. If that is enough for you to personally retire on, you might as well do it! Thank you for your question. Ask away! ChaCha!

About 401k
A 401K plan enables employees to save money for retirement in a tax free fashion until the money is withdrawn from the account upon the acceptable retirement age. The funds in the account can be invested in different stocks, bonds, mutual funds or other assets. This was created by Congress in 1981 and is named 401k due to the section of the Internal Revenue Code that describes it.
