The Escape is a compact crossover SUV made by the Ford Motor Company. The 4-door, 4-wheel drive SUV has become very popular since it's introduction in 2001. Ford released a Hybrid Escape in 2004 making it the first ever Hybrid SUV. The Ford Escape Hybrid is the top-selling, American made Hybrid and the most fuel efficient SUV available. Several Escape Electric Hybrids are currently being tested and Ford plans to bring them to the market by 2012.
