Q:

Is a Quibids scam?

A: It does seem the Quibids is a legit bidding site. However, you will have to pay about $0.60 per bid. Go ChaCha!

Ok, everyone is always looking for a cheap deal! this site is just like a slot machine at a indian casino! you will lose all your money about 90% of the time,I just spent $150 and I spent 2 days online, I didn't win anything!!and in response peter, no you can't get your $ back!!! there is no return policy! you just gave them your money!!

Simple Math… An item which advances by $0.01 (one penny) per bid and gets to $100 had 10,000 bids. Quibids charges $0.60 per bid. 10,000 x $0.60 = $6000 Now, they advertise that an iPad sold recently for ~$260. What’s that? 26,000 x $0.60 = $15,600 That’s a lot a cheddar for an item that retails for $699. For them to advertise that people are getting them for some cheap price is misleading as only one person gets it for the $260 (plus the cost of their bids) and the rest get to pay the remaider of the $15,340. It seems indistinguishable from gambling to me… except that casinos would never hope to profit 22x or more over retail. Put this way, is anyone thinking of regulation? Ed P.S. Who knew math would come in handy in real life?

I tried it once. Bought a couple of the small bid packs and ended up with a couple of things I probably would not have gone out and bought anyway. No deals but pretty well ended up even. Looks legit to me, they were up front about how it works. Let's say you want a $100 gift card and run out of bids after you bid $35. As I understand it, you can then select BUY NOW, and they will deduct the $35 when you buy it for $100. you are out a couple of bucks for shipping but you had a chance of buying it for a lot less. I don't see anything wrong with that. I am going to wait until I see something that I really want and that I am prepared to pay full price for, if I can't win it for less.

I got roped in and now have about 59 bids left. By the time I figured our what I won and what it cost it came out even. But I went back like a sucker and bought 75 more bids. No more after this. Don't know if it's a scam but it's just not worth it. Would rather try my luck on ebay.

Something is definately up. I spent all day yesterday watching and bidding few times. Today I spent 9 hours bidding. I did it slowly...but in the end I ran out of bids and didn't want to invest any more. After I stopped there were about 5 people bidding - all new names from when I started. I left the page for about a minute and guess what...the bidding stopped and someone won. Amazing how that happened.

WAKE UP PEOPLE

QuiBids is making a fortune on your HOPE to get something for nothing! Think about it, an ipad that sells for $850.00 is sold for $67.00. Great for the one person who wins. BUT $67.00 is the equivilent of 6,700 1cent bids at .60 cents each which means Quibids collected $4020 for the one $850 ipad. OR that several bidders spent almost $4000 and GOT NOTHING! Only 1 person wins! WAKE UP - shop wisely!!!
