Is Casey Anthony going to jail?

Rate This Answer

Jail Casey Anthony has been summoned back to court within 72 in Orlando due to a 2010 check fraud conviction. The action came after an apparent misunderstanding in the case. The judge had intended her to complete supervised probation after her release from jail. However, her attorney claims that since she was found not guilty, she already completed her sentence. Judge Belvin Perry sentenced Casey Anthony to 4 years in jail, one year for each of her 4 convictions of lying to authorities, but with credit for time served and good behavior, her release date was set for July 13, 2011. He also fined her $1,000 for each count. The four lies at issue include Anthony lying about whether her daughter was missing; about 2-year-old Caylee being in the custody of a nanny; about having a job at Universal Studios and about having received a phone call from Caylee.

Judge Belvin Perry has sentenced Casey Anthony to one year in jail for each of the four counts of lying to police, which will run consecutively. The judge and defense attorney Jose Baez said it will take about an hour to figure out what exact time Anthony has served and how to apply that to the sentence. The jail would also have to consider any good behavior time he will fine Anthony $1,000 for each count. ChaCha luvs your questions (someone has to).

Casey Anthony was found guilty on four counts of providing false information to a law enforcement officer. Anthony faces up to four years in prison on the counts for which she was found guilty but due to already having spent years in prison awaiting trial, it is possible she may be released on the date of her sentencing, July 7, 2011.
