About Valium
Valium is a pill in a family of pharmaceuticals called benzodiazepines. Benzodiazepines on the whole like Xanax or Valium depress the nervous system which make them effective for treating anxiety and muscle pain. Benzodiazepines can also be used to treat symptoms of alcohol withdrawal including shakiness, seizures, agitation and hallucinations. Valium and other benzodiazepines are also commonly abused drugs, that can ultimately lead to dependence when used for prolonged periods of time.
