About Down syndrome
Down syndrome is a genetic condition in which a person has 47 chromosomes instead of the usual 46. The most common form of Down syndrome is Trisomy 21, in which a person has an extra copy of chromosome 21. This extra chromosome results in problems with how the brain and body develop. Down syndrome is estimated at about 1 in 733 births.
About Autism
Autism Spectrum Disorder is a developmental disorder that involves impaired social interaction and unusual, repetitive actions or interests. The disorder effects one out of every 70 boys and one out of every 90 girls.
About Birth
Birth is an event in which a new being emerges from another being. Among animals, a birth can be from an egg or a ''live birth,'' as in the case of mammals. For human, birth has become less dangerous for mothers; but even with modern medicine, there are risks. A healthy birth is more likely if the mother is under a doctor's from the moment she knows she is pregnant.
