Is Heat good for a pulled muscle?

Applying heat can help with pain & to relax spasms/stiffness, but it's recommended that first ice is applied to the muscle to slow down the flow of blood to the area & reduce swelling/pain. If using heat, moist is better than dry, ex. a warm bath.
