Is it normal for your heartbeat to feel faster than it normally does?
Occasionally, because of emotions or physical exertion, your heart will beat faster than normal. It will also speed up if you are sick with a fever. Also, use of drugs such as tobacco, alcohol, caffeine, and illegal or prescription drugs may also cause the development of tachycardia, or lead to isolated periods of increased heart rate.
