Is it true that in your trachea, saliva traps microbes and prevents them from entering your lungs?

Microbes That is true. Air is filtered through tiny hairs called cilia inside your nostrils that trap small bits of dust and some microbes. Anything that doesn't get trapped there can get stuck in the mucus on the inside of your trachea (windpipe), which starts at the back of your throat. ChaCha anytime!
