Jani Lane (February 1, 1964 - August 11, 2011), was an American recording artist and the lead vocalist, frontman, lyricist and main songwriter for the glam metal band Warrant. He died on August 11 and was found with vodka and prescription drugs.

Jani Lane fronted the rock band, Warrant. As lead vocalist, he wrote three Top 40 singles including, ''Heaven,'' ''Down Boys,'' and ''Sometimes She Cries,'' for the album 'Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich.' He is well-known for the song ''Cherry Pie,'' on the 'Cherry Pie' album.
