Federal Holidays Labor Day is a United States federal holiday observed on the first Monday in September. It was 1st celebrated in the US on 09/05/1882 in N.Y. City after several ppl died b/c of the US military. It is the beginning of the NFL season, its a last chance for families to travel before the start of the new school year, & most ppl have the day off work! Love, ChaCha!
