Is Laurel Lake in Laurel County, Kentucky a man made lake?
You could say Laurel Lake is a man made lake. In 1960, Congress authorized construction of a dam on the Laurel River. The dam created a 5,600 acre lake which provides hydroelectric power, drinking water, and recreation.
