Limewire the program is legal, but using it to download copyrighted music is most certainly not.

Technically limewire only provides ways for you to access pirated music through peer to peer downloads.

LimeWire, is completely legal. What many people do w/ it, namely downloading and distributing copyright material, isn't legal.
